KADZINGA: 'COOKING A BURNING PASSION I COULDN'T IGNORE' »> She has big dreams of travelling, opening her own restaurant.
A deep-seated childhood passion for food has led Strand resident Shamiso Kadzinga on a successful culinary journey that is going from strength to strength.
The Zimbabwean-born 29 year old landed a job as a Commis Chef at the five-star Erinvale Estate Hotel and Spa in Somerset West within a month of graduating earlier this year, and has already been promoted to Demi Chef de Partie.
"The fact is that the most fulfilling careers are often born not from a straight path but from a burning passion that cannot be ignored - and I am proof of this," Kadzinga said.
"I have loved cooking since childhood and started cooking for my family at the age of eight. After high school, I initially pursued academia, graduating with a BA in International Relations from Unisa, but the call of the kitchen was too strong to ignore and I made the decision to enrol at culinary school."
She has not regretted the decision for an instant.
