Beijing 'gets it right' with tariffs

Beijing was on the "right side of history" in its gruelling trade war with the United States, a top Chinese economic official said yesterday.

Since returning to the White House in January, US President Donald Trump has imposed 10% tariffs on most US trading partners and a separate 14.5% levy on many products from China.

Beijing has responded with 125% tariffs of its own on US goods.
