FORM: BURKE-TRAINED RUNNERS FAR BETTER THAN RIVALS AT NOTTINGHAM
-
1 Qareem has the class to give weight and a beating to his rivals in the Barry Hills Further Flight Stakes at Nottingham today. Karl Burke's charge is penalised 2.5kg for last October's Group 3 Cumberland Lodge defeat of the equally consistent Al Aasy at Ascot but that form puts him a cut above this Listed-level company.
The six-year-old has an excellent overall record of eight wins and the same number of seconds from 27 outings and rarely runs a bad race.
He signed off last season with a Group 1 fourth in the Prix Royal Oak at Saint-Cloud and should strip fitter for a recent return to the same track, when just losing out on second place in the closing stages.
Stablemate Looking For Lynda is taken to return to winning ways in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap.
The five-year-old failed to score last season but ran several excellent races in defeat, being placed in the Dash at Epsom and a couple of valuable York contests.
