TRIBUTES TO 22-YEAR-OLD 'ON TRACK TO CONQUER THE WORLD'

- By NICOLE GOODWIN Reporter icole.goodwin@reachplc.com

TRIBUTES have been paid to a “ray of sunshine” who was “on track to conquer the world” before her life was tragically cut short following an alleged hit and run.

Abigail Eggleston was crossing the A167 at Neville’s Cross in Durham shortly before 2am on Sunday when she was hit by a car.

The 22-year-old, who was studying law at Durham University, was taken to Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI), but died a short time later.

She leaves behind her mother, father, sister, nan, granddad, boyfriend and her beloved cat, Spencer.

Yesterday, her heartbroken family paid an emotional tribute to their “precious angel”.
