Street party flies flag for VE Day

UNION flags were everywhere at a VE Day 80th anniversary street party in Newcastle on Saturday.
-
Several residents of Clipstone Avenue in Walker got together to put on the community event, having previously done so for the likes of the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Around 100 people in total gathered to celebrate in the closed-off street, with kids’ entertainment and music.
