Revamped shop puts its best foot forward
The Chronicle
|November 22, 2025
BOOTS yesterday unveiled its refurbished store in Newcastle's Eldon Square, offering an expanded beauty, health and wellness range to explore - just in time for Black Friday bargain hunters and Christmas shoppers.
The retailer heralded the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Staff from Boots stores across the country were there, with a DJ providing tunes and dancers in glitterball outfits, plus ceilings decked out with festive decorations above a huge range of Christmas gifts.
Cutting the ribbon was Lynne Devlin, a Newcastle staff member who has worked at Boots for nearly 50 years.
"In all the years I've been here, this is the best refit of the store I've ever seen," said Lynne, who started working in the shop in 1976.
