Metrocentre plans new shops and leisure zone
The Chronicle
|December 03, 2025
THE owners of the Metrocentre have unveiled plans to create a new retail zone for visitors.
The Metrocentre Partnership has announced plans to refurbish and reposition The Forum, the area which has been home to more traditional traders for years.
Now centre bosses plan to plough significant investment into transforming it into The Crescent, a new flagship destination set to champion independent retailers while also revitalising a key link mall within the centre in Gateshead.
