Lorik hopes his old club Can make a go of it in top flight

The Chronicle

LORIK Cana was a firm favourite in his one season at Sunderland.

He made an emotional return to the Stadium of Light last weekend as he was witness to the sort of performance he very much embodied over the course of his career.

Cana (pictured) was in the stands to watch Sunderland's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa as they played with 10 men for over an hour. But there were plenty of full-blooded challenges and bodies on the line, reminiscent of Cana's style.

Albania's all-time appearance maker was back on the pitch at the SoL for the first time since 2010 as he saluted the supporters at halftime.
