Charges are approved for long-awaited car park

GATESHEAD Council bosses have approved new charges for the long awaited Quays multi-storey car park on Hawkes Road.

The £23m project is also scheduled to open on September 29, despite being largely completed in early 2023.
The local authority's cabinet approved a new set of parking and electric vehicle charging fees for the soon-to-open multi-storey car park, set to be open seven days a week, from 6am to midnight. The new fees have been modelled on nearby Quarryfield Road car park.
