Apology after rubbish sacks left outside flats

A NEIGHBOUR called a huge buildup of rubbish that was left outside council flats on North Shields’ Marden Estate over the weekend “disgusting”.

The mountain of rubbish bags left outside a property on Rydal Avenue on the Marden estate in North Shields have now been cleared

Hundreds of black bags were seen on the path in Rydal Avenue, as well as a mattress and a fridge freezer.

The rubbish was amassed from a house clearance and had been there since around 9.30am on Saturday morning.

The council confirmed that it had been picked up on Monday, and that there had been some “confusion” as the clearance had been completed on Saturday.
