Supreme Court Stayed CBI Investigation Against Ex-Tamil Nadu Minister KT Rajenthra Bhalaji in Corruption Case

The counsel, Senior Advocate Amit Anand Tiwari also argued before the court that the order of High Court would lead to a de novo investigation.

The Supreme Court in the case K.T. Rajenthrabhalaji Versus The State and The State by the Inspector of Police Versus S Ravindran observed and has passed an interim order, wherein the court restrained the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI from conducting investigation into the allegations made against former AIADMK Minister K.T. Rajenthra Bhalaji in a cash-for-job scam case.
On January 06, the Madras High Court in the case directed the Central Bureau of Investigation, CBI probe after it found that the Tamil Nadu Government had not complied with the earlier order passed by court in November last year, wherein the court directed the State police to file a chargesheet in the present matter.
The bench comprising of Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice S.V.N Bhatti was hearing the present matter.
