Reliance emerges winner as top 5 firms gain Rs 1.99 trn in M-cap

Last week witnessed significant gains in market valuations for five out of the top-10 most-valued companies, contributing a collective increase of Rs 1,99,111.06 crore. Reliance Industries emerged as the standout performer, aligning with positive market sentiments.

During the week, the BSE benchmark surged by 542.3 points, marking a 0.75% increase. Both benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, achieved fresh all-time highs on Friday, recording a growth of over 1%.
Among the gainers within the top-10, Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), ICICI Bank, Infosys, and Bharti Airtel led the pack. On the flip side, HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, State Bank of India, and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) faced a combined setback, witnessing a decline of Rs 76,098.67 crore in market capitalization.
