The Punjab and Haryana High Court in the case Sangeeta Phogat & Ors. v. Union of India & Ors.

observed and seek response from the Central Government on the petition moved by Wrestling Player Sangeeta Phogat and others to set aside the Wrestling Federation of India, WFI's executive committee election held in December 2023.
In the present case, the petition filed states that the executive committee elections are in violation of the Constitution of the Federation, National Sports Development Code of India, 2011, and the ruling of Delhi High Court's in the case Rahul Mehra v. Union of India and Ors.
