Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh,on a three-day state visit to India, praised India’s strategic vision and its role in combating the COVID-19 pandemic during his address at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Thursday. His remarks came as part of a broader discussion with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi aimed at further enhancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.

In his speech, Pham Minh Chinh highlighted the transformative changes occurring in the global landscape, driven by advancements in technology such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing. He noted the profound impact these innovations have on production, governance, human behaviour, and the environment. “We share a strategic vision of today’s world, particularly the dramatic changes in the natural environment and human development. The advent of digital and green transformation, circular economy, and climate action is fundamentally reshaping how the world operates,” he said.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister also commended India’s pivotal role during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the country’s contribution through its development and supply of vaccines. “India played a crucial role in the fight against COVID-19 with four types of vaccines, from which Vietnam benefited significantly. We also imported a substantial quantity of COVID-19 treatment medicines from India,” Chinh acknowledged.
