In 2023, Huawei Technologies Co. experienced a 9% surge in revenue, marking a significant year for the Chinese tech giant that confronted Apple Inc. and US sanctions by achieving an unexpected breakthrough in chip technology.

The sales reached over 700 billion yuan ($98.7 billion), marking the fastest growth in years, attributed to a revived smartphone business and robust 5G equipment sales. Every quarter, revenue increased by 27% to at least 243.4 billion yuan, calculated from the annual figure. This represents a notable acceleration from the slight rise in the third quarter.
