Actress Joyoshree Arora best known for her role as Bhagwanti in India’s first TV serial Hum Log, has also played the role of Shah Rukh Khan's mother in Chak De! India and the 1989 TV show Fauji.

From ‘Hum Log’ to ‘Chak De!': Joyoshree Arora Reflects on Her Pioneering Journey in film industry

In a candid conversation she gave her insight about her journey in the film industry and her onscreen camaraderie with Shah Rukh Khan.

Joyoshree Arora said, “Initially, from the age of four, I started learning Kathak. My parents were very keen on it, but since my father was in the Army, so we couldn't stay at one place for long time, we moved from place to place. Sometimes it used to be big cities, sometimes it used to be very remote places, wherever my father was posted. I finished my higher secondary when I was thirteen and a half. And my school life was of five years and almost three months.”

She further said that her uncle was a film maker and a couple of people would tell her father that she would do well in films.
