The Delhi government has introduced the 'Industrial and Economic Development Policy 2023-33,' which is focused on creating a knowledge-based economy and making the national capital a "24-hour city." The policy aims to promote high-tech industrial development, the services sector, and various economic activities.
The proposed policy seeks to transform Delhi into a globally competitive urban economy by encouraging the night economy, offering plug-and-play facilities, supporting startups, and fostering new economic activities. It envisions a knowledge-based economy, emphasizing hitech industrial and economic development.
The government intends to implement the policy objectives in a timely and transparent manner while establishing an accountable governance mechanism. The policy will remain operational for ten years after its notification.
