Over 3.7 lakh people have received grants totaling about Rs 932 crores over the last five years (2018-2023)

Over 3.7 lakh beneficiaries connected to the armed forces (Army, Navy, and Air Force) received grants worth Rs 932 crore from the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB), a body under the Defence Ministry, in the last five years between 2018 and 2023 under various welfare schemes like education grants of their wards, daughters' marriage, and serious diseases, among others.
Those who benefited from the award under ten welfare programs offered nationwide for their wellbeing include ex-servicemen, widows, and their dependents. The 410 district Sainik Boards and 34 state KSBs across the nation provide support for these programs.
