COAS Upendra Dwivedi visits Baramulla forward posts, lauds troops for valour in Op Sindoor

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday visited the forward locations in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir and commended the valour and dedication of the Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who took part in the recently conducted Operation Sindoor.
The COAS praised their heroic efforts in maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control (LoC) and ensuring operational dominance during a critical phase in India's counter-terrorism response.
During his visit, General Dwivedi presented the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Disc to HC (GD) Rantana Ram of the 185 Battalion BSF for his exceptional bravery and gallant actions during Operation Sindoor.
The award reflects the Indian Army's recognition of individual acts of courage and commitment to national security.
A day earlier, on Thursday, the Army Chief had visited the forward areas under the Dagger Division in Jammu and Kashmir.
During this visit, he interacted with all ranks of the Indian Army deployed in the region and acknowledged their unwavering vigilance and tactical readiness.
