India firmly opposes the CPEC because it passes through Pakistan-occupied Kashmi

Pakistan and China have come to a mutual agreement to involve third parties in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a significant component of China’s expansive Belt and Road Initiative, as revealed by a prominent Pakistani diplomat. The CPEC, which is anticipated to cost a staggering USD 60 billion, aims to connect Xinjiang in China with Pakistan’s Gwadar port, while also extending into Afghanistan in their future plans.
However, India vehemently opposes the CPEC due to its route passing through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The Indian government sees this as an infringement on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. This ongoing disagreement has caused tensions between India and both Pakistan and China.
