Assam Unveils ₹2.9L Cr Budget

The Assam government Tunveiled a budget of Rs 2.9 lakh crore for the financial year 2024-2025, presenting a deficit of Rs 774.47 crore and proposing no new taxes.

Finance Minister Ajanta Neog highlighted initiatives to support education, including aiding the education of 10 lakh girls up to post-graduation level to combat child marriage in society. The budget estimates reveal receipts of Rs 2,90,155.65 crore, with total expenditure estimated at Rs 2,88,560.71 crore.
