Anant Chaturdashi is one of the most significant and spiritually powerful days in the Hindu calendar.
Celebrated on the 14th day (Chaturdashi) of the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) in the month of Bhadrapada (August-September), this day holds deep meaning for devotees across India. It is observed by both Vaishnavites and Ganesh devotees, and marks the culmination of the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
Anant Chaturdashi embodies the idea of eternal divinity, spiritual purification, and release from worldly attachments.
The word "Anant" refers to the infinite or eternal form of Lord Vishnu, and "Chaturdashi" means the fourteenth day. On this day, worshippers observe fasts and perform rituals dedicated to Lord Anant (Vishnu), seeking blessings for prosperity, protection, and liberation from negative energies. It is believed that observing this vrat (fast) with full devotion for 14 consecutive years leads to freedom from all sins and grants the devotee a prosperous and balanced life.
