PNP on heightened alert for 'Undas'

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is now on heightened alert as it begins deploying more than 50,000 personnel to secure the nationwide observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov. | and 2.
The alert status—effective until Nov. 3 requires all police units to boost readiness and tighten security measures in anticipation of the surge in public activity during “Undas.”
Acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melecio Nartatez, Jr. said the initial focus of deployment includes bus terminals, transportation hubs, and major thoroughfares, as thousands of Filipinos begin traveling to their hometowns for the annual tradition.
