Escudero to face Comelec over P30-M campaign fund

Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero welcomed the issuance of a show-casue order from the Commission on Elections (Comelec), saying he looks forward to proving that no laws were violated in connection with a P30-million campaign donation he received from a contractor during his May 2022 election bid.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia confirmed on Saturday, Oct. 4, that the order had been sent to Escudero.
"Ito po ay naipadala na kahapon at ineexpect natin doon sa pagdinig na gagawin either siya po ang pumunta o magpadala ng kanyang abogado ", Garcia said in a radio interview over DZBB.
