4.6-quake rocks Zambales 3 injured in Pasay fire

A magnitude-4.6 earthquake rocked Palauig town, Zambales province early Sunday morning, Dec. 28, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Phivolcs initially reported the earthquake at magnitude 4.8 but later lowered it to 4.6.

According to its Earthquake Information No. 2, the tremor occurred at 2:26 a.m.

Phivolcs said the epicenter of the earthquake was located nine kilometers north-northwest of Palauig, with depth of focus of 30 kilometers and tectonic in origin.

The earthquake was Intensity III in Masinloc, Iba, and Botolan, Zambales and Intensity II in Quezon City.
