Woman 'Sold' Into Three Marriages For Lakhs

21-year-old from Latur forced into multiple marriages in Pune district
In a shocking case of alleged marriage trafficking, police have arrested four individuals accused of forcing a 21-year-old woman from Latur district into three different marriages while collecting lakhs of rupees in “commission.”
The case came to light after the woman attempted suicide by consuming poison on Friday evening when she was allegedly pressured to marry a fourth man in Kanadi (Budruk) village in Ashti tehsil.
According to Ashti Police Inspector Sharad Bhutekar, the victim is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Shrigonda in Ahilyanagar district, where her condition is reported to be critical.
