Campaigners in call for airport runway rethink

A CAMPAIGN group against Gatwick Airport's expansion has put forward a legal challenge opposing the construction of a second operating runway.

CAGNE (Communities Against Gatwick Noise Emissions) is urging the Transport Secretary to revoke development consent and says it may bring a judicial review challenge if this does not happen.

The Government last month gave the go-ahead for Gatwick to convert its emergency runway for regular use.
