Chertsey check relegation zone after poor Easter

WITH only one match remaining, Chertsey Town have yet to confirm their membership of the Southern League's Premier Division for next season.

A poor bank holiday performance in their last home game resulted in defeat with 10 men to Hanwell Town, a side they had previously beaten twice this term. They also lost 4-1 at Winchester on Saturday.

However, the odds on staying up are still in the Curfews’ favour. They sit 14th and five of the eight sides below them will have to overtake.

Despite this comforting statistic, there are only two points separating seven teams above the relegation zone - and two more who could yet climb out of it. It could not be tighter.
