NEW DEVELOPMENTS SET TO SPRING UP

- By VICTORIA SHIPP

Changes on way for North Street

THERE are about to be some big changes to Guildford's North Street, as the next stage of a major development gets under way.

Almost all of the scheduled demolition has already taken place and soon new buildings will spring up.

Last Wednesday evening (June 3), developers at St Edward spoke through what is about to happen at the North Street Regeneration project, as well as some slight changes they want to make to the planning documents.

There are 477 homes planned for the land between Commercial Road and Leapale Road, which should eventually house 845 people, as well as a transformed bus station, a new medical centre and large amounts of retail space and public gardens in a newly pedestrianised zone.

Big changes have already taken place, the Old Post Office has been completely demolished and the buildings housing the old vape store and Rugmart set to follow soon.
