Hotchkiss praises his side's attitude and character

Olly Hotchkiss praised the 'attitude and character' of his Easington Colliery players after they battled to a narrow home win against Newcastle Benfield in Northern League Division One on Saturday.

With blustery conditions hitting Welfare Park, it was the visitors that came close to opening the scoring during the opening half-hour as Lewis Orrell saw his shot cleared from the line by Colliers defender Andrew Nelson.

Hotchkiss' men made the most of that let-off in spectacular fashion as Liam Adamson got the goal that decided the game with a stunning effort from outside of the area just minutes before halftime.
