Malaysia hosted the inaugural World Bowls World Cup event with 12 nations taking part in what was a precursor to the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. In the Men's Blue Riband Singles, the gold medal went to England's Sam Tolchard.

England Para duo of Sally Ann Lewis-Wall and director Elizabeth Shirley.

After navigating the group format with a four win and one loss record, Tolchard beat the host nation's Muhammad Soufi Bin Rusti 6-3, 4-4 in the quarterfinals before accounting for Australia's Corey Wedlock 8-3,8-8 in the semifinals. In the final, the England star defeated India's Dinesh Kumar 7-2, 6-1 to secure the gold medal.
