Cats stars have helped push us on - Jones
Sunderland Echo
|November 21, 2025
Sunderland Under-21s starlet Jenson Jones has been speaking about the positive influence that first-team stars like Luke O’Nien and Dennis Cirkin have had on the Black Cats’ next generation of talent in recent weeks.
-
The duo have both featured for Graeme Murty’s development side in the Premier League International Cup of late as they continue their respective comebacks from long-term injury issues.
O'Nien started at the heart of defence in a 2-2 draw against Anderlecht at the Stadium of Light in October, while Cirkin joined the centre-back and fellow first team stalwart Dan Neil in the starting XI for a 7-1 thrashing of Athletic Bilbao last week.
