DUNSTON 3 HEATON STANNINGTON 1

- Callum Pattison

DUNSTON continued their quest for promotion with an impressive 3-1 victory against local rivals Heaton Stannington - goals from Jude Swailes, Rory Edwards, and David Robinson securing the three points for the home side.

The Fed dominated most of the proceedings and netted three spectacular goals to strengthen their standings in the top five of the Northern Premier League East Division.

Manager Jon McDonald was delighted with the performance and the way his side reacted after a disappointing defeat in midweek against Hallam.

"I enjoyed that and, overall, we played well. We pressed high up the pitch, particularly in the first half and we scored some great goals," he told the Sunday Sun.

"It’s just the goal we conceded, we all wanted that clean sheet, but overall, I thought we deserved to win the game."
