Thrones star Harington in his directorial debut with a dark comedy
Kit with wife Rose Leslie
He has conquered the small screen with lauded roles in Game of Thrones and Industry, but as he did so Kit Harington felt an unfulfilled urge.
The actor, Jon Snow in GoT and Henry Muck in the HBO/BBC drama, started to feel like he should be the one calling the shots.
He tells our reporter: "I found myself more and more on set wanting to be the person behind the camera, feeling like, 'maybe we should have got that shot' or 'I would have given that note to the actor'.
"That was kind of bugging me.
"It was an itch that needed to be scratched. It started to become invasive, where I would go up to a director and say, 'Maybe if we got that panning shot' kind of thing - and they'd look at me like 'f*** off'?
The turning point came after a conversation with his friend and director Miguel Sapochnik, who encouraged him to stop overthinking and simply make a film.
The 39-year-old had been writing some scripts so, encouraged by Miguel, went through them to choose one.
