OAP RETURNS FROM HOLS TO 'EYESORE' OVER BACK GARDEN

FUMING Midland homeowner has told of his shock upon returning from a holiday to discover a colossal l'eyesore' extension looming at the edge of his garden.

Les Whitaker, 75, was greeted by an imposing edifice abutting his property in Shrewsbury after a month-long sojourn in India.

The septuagenarian grandad was blindsided by the substantial addition to the property next door, which includes a two-tier storage construct overshadowing his rear fence.

Shropshire Council had approved the development last September, authorising Glyn Jones, the owner of the adjacent property, to enhance his residence with "remodelling of existing house to provide additional living accommodation, garaging and storage, reordering of elevations and roof profile".

However, Les contends he was kept in the dark about the developments at Field House next door, asserting he would have contested the plans had he been aware.
