Romanian burglar's message to Brits after rampage across Birmingham

- CARL JACKSON Court Reporter

A ROMANIAN burglar who went on a rampage in Birmingham and Solihull has apologised to British citizens.

Claudiu Pop targeted 13 properties in two months, often smashing windows to get in.

In some incidents he managed to steal hauls worth thousands of pounds while in others he took Amazon parcels from porches.

The 34-year-old, of no fixed address, was already serving a four-and-a-half year sentence for burglaries in London.

He was handed another two years and three months, to run consecutively, at Birmingham Crown Court, having admitted 11 charges of burglary and two attempted burglaries.

Pop will likely be deported back to Romania upon his release.
