Fergie video message inspired Dons to famous win

JUBILANT Jimmy Thelin revealed a video message from Sir Alex Ferguson helped drive Aberdeen to Scottish Cup glory.

The Swedish boss delivered in his first season at Pittodrie after his players spent all week visualising lifting the silverware. That belief was bolstered with video clips from fans and other Dons including the heroes greatest manager of them all, Sir Alex.

Aberdeen produced a heroic display to take Celtic to penalties then snatch glory from 12 yards - just like their last Cup triumph in 1990 - denying the Hoops a Treble.

Thelin hailed it his greatest football moment and said: "What can I say? "You can hear our supporters outside, see their faces, the smile on the city, the players, the staff.

"All last week we had tried to visualise how we could win and create this belief inside the squad and how they could compete.

"You have to be allowed to dream big.

"That's important because we put up some targets to get to Europe then be in a semi-final, two semi-finals.
