Hutton: 'Squad of captains' won Helicopter Sunday – and Rohl's Rangers need that too

After winning 12 and losing just one of the 15 league games to claw themselves above Celtic and to within four points of leaders Hearts, Hutton reckons the German is building belief that they can again upset the odds and nose over the line first.

- FRASER WILSON

The addition of Denmark ace Andreas Skov Olsen and Tochi Chukwuani has bolstered what Hutton feared was a lack of leaders in the camp. And that, he reckons, is essential.

Reflecting on that 2004-05 season, Hutton told MailSport: "I'd say the mentality of the group won us that title. I always judge Rangers teams now by what it was back then. If you look at that team, we had guys like Ricksen, Moore, Novo, Lovenkrands, Arveladze.

"Barry Ferguson came back in the January. So there's another leader.

"There were so many leaders within the group who could have been captains and, if the chips were down, you could lean on these guys.

"There was loads and loads of experience in there.
