Tounekti hopes to go from fast to feast in today's Old Firm showdown – and he wants Hoops to wow their fans for full 90 minutes

- FRASER WILSON

SEBASTIAN TOUNEKΤΙ won't have eaten a morsel of food or touched a drop of water since the sun rose this morning.

But come 1pm, the only thing the Celtic winger will be desperate to sink his teeth into is Rangers.

The Tunisia international is observing Ramadan along with millions of other Muslims across the world, meaning he can't eat or drink anything during the hours of sunlight.

It's hardly ideal preparation for the 100mph chaos of an Old Firm - especially when the vast majority of the stadium wants to feast on Hoops misery.

But this time of year is meat and drink to Tounekti, who signed for the Hoops from Hammarby last summer.

Having helped serve up a second-half fightback at Ibrox seven days ago, the winger is salivating at the prospect of this Scottish Cup quarterfinal.

And even an exhausting schedule that has seen him play 65 games in the last 11 months without a break won't affect his hunger to demolish Rangers.

He said: "Ramadan is a great month for Muslims but the fasting does require sacrifice.

"The fasting is something I have been doing for a long time so I know what I should do to keep myself in good shape.

"It is something I am used to and, of course, the club has been amazing in supporting me through Ramadan.

"The dieticians work with me closely to tell me what to eat and what not to eat.
