Young take more sick days than older staff

YOUNG workers are taking almost double the number of mental health sick days as their older colleagues, a study shows.

Research reveals 40% of employees aged 18 to 34 took more than a day off in the last year for poor mental health — compared to 23% across all ages and just 7% of over-55s.

More than half said their mental health had damaged their productivity, and more than a third admitted they had considered quitting their job because of a lack of support.
