But when it comes to Daniel Dubois and his dad, Stan, it was obvious to trainer Don Charles that the father figure must loom large in camp.

That realisation was made when Dubois was fighting Jarrell Miller in 2023.

Promoter Frank Warren noticed that Dubois was looking into the crowd during the bout, searching for his father.

So as the rounds got tougher, Warren ordered Stan to sit ringside near the corner and roar instructions or at least repeat what Charles was saying.

Dubois forced the fight his way as a result, stopping Miller to spark the red-hot run which has led him to next Saturday’s undisputed heavyweight showdown with Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley.
