Warning over rise in election violence

THE RISE in violence targeting election candidates "should worry us all", a leading think tank has warned.

Politicians will be increasingly scared to meet voters, according to the Henry Jackson Society. It follows two attacks against Reform leader Nigel Farage, who has been offered additional Home Office security.

A milkshake was thrown at him in Clacton, Essex, on June 4. And on Tuesday, other objects were thrown at him as he campaigned in Barnsley.

Two people have been charged over the incidents.
