Sun seekers take Pride in 25C heat

THOUSANDS of sun lovers took advantage of the heat yesterday as beaches, parks and streets were packed with revellers.

As temperatures hit 25C, 300,000 people headed to Brighton’s seafront for the UK’s biggest Pride festival.

And as well as the colourful parade, they were treated to music from headline acts Girls Aloud and Mika.

North of the border, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe got underway in fine style in the Scottish capital.

Tourists swamped the Royal Mile to see novelty acts as comedy gigs popped up in venues across the city.

And it’s good news for those who missed out. The warm and dry weather is set to continue for most of today, with any showers short-lived.
