Skydiving Express team make Whizz Kidz soar
Sunday Express
|January 18, 2026
THE Express Christmas appeal for Whizz Kidz came to a thrilling end yesterday as four brave journalists plummeted from the sky for a final fundraising boost.
Assistant editor Hannah Kane, showbiz editor Sasha Morris and senior reporter Conor Wilson joined me to complete a tandem skydive from 13,000 feet.
Sponsorship for the jump raised £1,207, plus £280 in gift aid, which has been added to the generous donations of our readers.
It brings the total for our Give the Gift of Childhood Christmas appeal to more than £127,000 enough to buy 25 lifechanging wheelchairs for children or fund a range of other vital support.
Whizz Kidz chief executive Sarah Pugh said: "As our Christmas appeal with the Express comes to a close, we wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you readers who have been inspired by the stories we have shared to give the gift of childhood.
"Over the last few months, through the eyes of the young people and families we support and dedication of the journalists at the Express, we have shown you what the right wheelchair really means for a child and their family.
"Every you've kindly given us will help children to play, laugh and dream. To join in with their friends and their families on day trips, holidays and school performances.
