MARC CUCURELLA has warned buoyant Chelsea cannot allow standards to slip again this season.

After a dreadful run of form and results left Mauricio Pochettino's men sitting in the bottom half of the table, they bounced back in style on Thursday with a thrilling victory over Manchester United.

Cucurella is convinced that 4-3 win at Stamford Bridge, which included hat-trick hero Cole Palmer scoring twice deep into stoppage time, means the Londoners can still make a late surge for European qualification.

Indeed, the Spanish defender argues their fate is in their own hands with nine league games left, starting with today's trip to basement boys Sheffield United.

Asked if Europe is now a realistic aim, the ex-Brighton man said: "For sure, it's in our hands. We need to win all the games.
