Live Aid legend ticked off with soaring prices

MUSIC boss Harvey Goldsmith helped change the world with Live Aid — but today he has had enough of being “ripped off” by the industry.

As the 40th anniversary of the epic charity concerts at Wembley and Philadelphia approaches, the event’s promoter accused some counterparts and ticketing giants of conning today’s fans.

And he pointed the finger of blame firmly at the live music industry.

The 79-year-old said: “Promoters don’t give a damn. And most artists don’t know — or don’t care.”

Mr Goldsmith added he won’t be going to see the Oasis reunion tour, which begins in July, unless he can get a ticket at face value.

The UK competition watchdog has launched an investigation after the scramble by fans to get hold of tickets last August exposed the scandal of inflated prices.
