Labour's pledge on bone care

HEALTH Secretary Wes Streeting has once again vowed to keep his promise to transform fracture liaison services in the battle against osteoporosis.

He doubled down on his pre-election pledge to end the postcode lottery so everyone has access to the potentially life-saving clinics by 2030.

And he praised the "unmissable" Sunday Express Better Bones crusade, saying the services we campaigned for will end up saving taxpayers cash.

Osteoporosis causes 500,000 broken bones every year at a cost of more than £4.5billion. But only half of England's NHS trusts have a specialist clinic to identify and treat anyone over 50 with a fracture.
