'I won't give territory to occupiers'

Zelensky’s defiant pledge as Trump and Putin plan summit

VOLODYMYR Zelensky has vowed Ukraine will never cede territory to "occupiers" Russia, as he dismissed a planned summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

The US President has confirmed his counterpart will travel to Alaska on Friday, the first time a sitting Russian leader has gone to the state since it was acquired from the Russian Empire in 1867.

It follows growing frustration from Trump over the lack of resolution in the three-year conflict, which he previously vowed to broker "within 24 hours" of taking office in January.

Downing Street yesterday announced a meeting of national security advisers from the US, Europe and Ukraine to "discuss progress towards securing a just and lasting peace".
