The "significant" revelation follows extensive examination of an Arash-2 drone which was recovered in the Negev desert after Tehran attacked Israel three weeks ago.
And the same sophisticated systems are "most likely" being used to assist Russia's war effort in Ukraine.
The discovery contributed to new sanctions being imposed by the US last week on Chinese firms accused of supporting Russia's war machine.
Now Britain and the US have embarked on a joint project to counter these guidance systems.
The state-of-the-art Arash-2 usually disintegrates upon impact.
