Dad's anger at trolls as Jay hunt goes on

JAY Slater's father yesterday slammed internet trolls who have criticised the family for "not looking hard enough" for the missing teenager.

Warren Slater, 58, was joined by Jay's brother Zak, 24, and a handful of others after Spanish police appealed for volunteers to assist in what was hoped to be a massive search on Tenerife yesterday.

Searches involving mountain rescue teams and sniffer dogs are still trying to locate the 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer, from Oswaldtwistle, Lancs, who vanished on June 17.

Around nine members of the public joined the hunt, including TikTok star and mountaineer Paul Arnott, 29, who has been helping the family, a German couple and four Spaniards.

Warren said: "It's a bit disappointing that there are no British apart from Paul but I suppose to them he's just a British lad who has come out here and got drunk.
